Topic: The role of the pharmacist as an integral member of the primary health diabetes care team to support optimal health outcomes for people living with diabetes

Speaker: Catherine Bronger and Mina Naguib


Catherine Bronger is a community pharmacist, General Manager of the Chemistworks group, and a partner in three Sydney based pharmacies that have a strong focus on the delivery of professional services and diabetes education and management. She is the Vice President of the Pharmacy Guild’s NSW Branch and also the chair of the Guild's NSW Scope of Practice Subcommittee. Catherine is passionate about community pharmacists using their knowledge, skills and accessibility to achieve better health outcomes for their patients through professional pharmacy services and innovative health.


Mina Naguib has held a range of pharmacist roles. He began his career as a community pharmacist, then transitioned to aged care pharmacist and now is the Regional Manager Vic North for Ward Medication Management, one of Australia’s leading clinical pharmacy companies. Mina has a special interest in supporting people living with diabetes. He has a Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Management and Education from Curtin University and has volunteered as a diabetes educator in general practice. He has also worked as a General Practice Pharmacist and is a consultant pharmacist accredited by the AACPA to conduct Home Medication Reviews.
