The National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) in collaboration with GoShare (by Healthily) and Western Sydney Diabetes brings you PERL (Patient Education Resource Library).

Innovative way of delivering health education. Together, they have created an extensive library of patient education resources including fact sheets, videos, apps and websites that can be seamlessly sent to your patients with diabetes via email or SMS.

MEET THE PRESENTERS

Dr Tina Campbell is a health promotion specialist with extensive experience developing patient education resources, tools and programs. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Healthily, a Melbourne-based health technology company, specialising in patient education and behaviour change.

With a career in the health industry spanning two decades, Tina has led the development of Australia’s largest video library of patient and carer experiences, and designed and developed the GoShare Healthcare content distribution platform, a web application used by health professionals around Australia to deliver tailored education resources to their patients by email or SMS.

Tina completed her PhD at the Centre for Health Policy, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne. Her randomised controlled trial evaluated the impact of a ‘patient narrative’ intervention program on self-efficacy and self-care behaviours in people with Type 2 Diabetes.

 

Liz Obersteller is a Registered Nurse, Credentialled Diabetes Educator.

Nurse Practitioner for Diabetes at Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Natalie Wischer is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) and Project Director of Foot Forward.

Natalie has extensive management experience in clinical and executive health roles across acute, aged care and primary health care settings and has more than 20 years of experience in organisational development, quality and risk management and governance and held leadership roles in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Through looking at system and service gaps, making strategic decisions and trialling innovative methods to create change, Natalie helps to translate health priorities and strategy in the pursuit of improved diabetes service delivery and education in the support of people living with diabetes.
