What NADC is all about
Membership offers access to resources, education, and quality improvement activities while connecting diabetes services nationwide through NADC advocacy. Joining NADC links passionate healthcare organisations committed to excellent diabetes service provision throughout Australia.
The NADC accreditation is the only program to offer comprehensive, peer-reviewed accreditation for tertiary, secondary, and primary health services providing diabetes care that aim to deliver the best possible care to people living with diabetes.
The NADC Centre of Excellence Standards and Accreditation program offers services an opportunity to demonstrate that their organisation exceeds expectations set out in the NADC Diabetes Standards and operates as a Centre of Excellence (COE) in diabetes care in Australia.
The objective of the NADC interdisciplinary High Risk Foot Service (iHRFS) standards and accreditation package is to assist services to benchmark and achieve quality patient care through improved interdisciplinary team-based care, including governance and centre structure, as well as providing opportunities for clinician education and research.
The NADC technology standards and accreditation program has been developed to offer a comprehensive diabetes-specific set of Standards to guide and optimise service provision. The standards set a benchmark for service delivery in diabetes technologies which is measured and assessed through a peer review accreditation process.
The Standards for MAFLD Prevention, Detection and Management in People with Diabetes provide an evidence-based framework for integrating liver health into diabetes services through risk-based screening, early detection, multidisciplinary care and referral pathways to reduce complications and improve long-term outcomes. NADC also has links to a range of resources and a Community of Practice.
Leading Australian iHRFS clinicians created a minimum dataset that has formed the Australian Diabetes Foot Registry (ADFR). This dataset is available to all iHRFS member services as a user-friendly electronic form to support services in participating in this benchmarking opportunity. This nationwide, world-class database enables quality improvement activities, including service evaluation and resource allocation.
Australasian Diabetes Advancements and Technologies Summit (ADATS) is the country’s leading health professional conference for diabetes and technology. It showcases the latest advancements in diabetes technologies and how these advancements will impact service delivery and diabetes care nationally.
The Best Practice in Diabetes Care (BPDC) meeting provides healthcare member services with an interactive, collaborative forum for networking and discussing the important issues affecting diabetes care, including funding, workforce, models of care, and quality care. This is an NADC member-only event.
The National Diabetes Care Course is an interactive and comprehensive online educational program that provides healthcare professionals with current and evidence-based knowledge of diabetes clinical and self-care management. CPD certification and RACGP points are available on completion of the module.
The Type 2 Diabetes MOC is a practical toolkit containing information and case studies to improve service access and health outcomes for people with diabetes. The MOC resource outlines best practice models of service delivery for successful integrated care and optimal diabetes management.
Australian National Diabetes Audit has now transitioned to the Australian Diabetes Clinical Quality Registry (ADCQR). The ADCQR relies on participating diabetes centres to collect data on patients with diabetes to monitor and report on the quality of care.
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) for Type 2 Diabetes in General Practice is a free online learning module for general practitioners and primary care clinicians involved in the management of type 2 diabetes in the community.
The National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) have created a series of webinars for healthcare professionals available live and on demand. The learning series covers a wide range of topics of interest to all people involved in the care of those living with diabetes.
