Topic: High Risk Foot – Case Studies from the Top End

Speaker: Sally Lamond

Sally Lamond is the senior Podiatrist in the High Risk Foot Service and professional lead of Podiatry at Royal Darwin Hospital. She has extensive clinical experience working in high risk foot management and a special interest in improving foot health outcomes for patients in the Northern Territory, where rates of diabetes -related foot complications, particularly amongst Aboriginal people, are the highest in the country. She has spent over 20 years working as a clinical podiatrist and over 10 years working in the remote Kimberley and NT. In 2014 she worked as a project officer for the Fijian Ministry of Health, responsible for a primary care foot health training project and ongoing consultancy.  She has completed a Masters of Public Health at Flinders University and was a member of the SAHMRI- led Top End diabetes foot complications expert advisory committee.  In her spare time she enjoys camping and hiking and enjoys the eternal sunshine and easy-going lifestyle of the NT.
