Survey results: How long are people living with diabetes waiting for diabetes education?
Around two weeks ago, ADEA and the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) conducted a short survey about waiting times for diabetes education. 106 diabetes health professionals from across six states and territories completed the survey. Here are some of the key findings:
Most respondents said they spend 10 to 25 % of their time on initiating people on diabetes technologies.
The average waiting list for new clients is 2 to 4 weeks.
87.62% stated that their waiting lists had not increased significantly after it had been announced that the Omnipod would be listed on the NDSS.
When asked whether the announcement had led to an increase in phone calls, 67% of the respondents stated ‘no’.
