MEET OUR PRESENTERS

Professor Sophia Zoungas is an endocrinologist and a leading clinician scientist and trialist. She is Head of the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University and Professor of Diabetes, Vascular Health and Ageing. 

Her research focus is on the generation and implementation of evidence for the prevention, screening and management of diabetes and its complications of kidney and cardiovascular disease.

Professor Zoungas directs and supports projects and teaching on health care delivery, as well as advises on clinical epidemiological methods and trial design/conduct/reporting.

Natalie Wischer is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) and Project Director of Foot Forward.

Natalie has extensive management experience in clinical and executive health roles across acute, aged care and primary health care settings and has more than 20 years of experience in organisational development, quality and risk management and governance and held leadership roles in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Through looking at system and service gaps, making strategic decisions and trialling innovative methods to create change, Natalie helps to translate health priorities and strategy in the pursuit of improved diabetes service delivery and education in the support of people living with diabetes.
