Expressions of interest are now open for NADC organisations to apply to be involved in a collaborative research project with the Joslin Diabetes Centre.
NADC are looking for a member centre that has the relevant experience, resourcing and interest to be involved in collaborating in a project with the Joslin and the NADC on hypoglycemia and technology.
The goal of the project is two-fold:
Firstly, to develop an online hypoglycemia education program for patients with frequent hypoglycemia and hypoglycemia unawareness; this education program would be linked to the HypoMap app and Glooko platform for glucose data collection. More information can be found at:http://www.joslin.org/news/JITT-and-glooko-introduce-hypoglycemia-awareness-product%20.html .
Secondly, to evaluate the system (which would be accessible by patients via their smartphone) in a trial, with reversal of hypo unawareness and reduction of hypoglycemia as endpoints.
It is aimed that funding for the project will be sought from the Helmsley Foundation which supports international collaborations: http://helmsleytrust.org
A prompt expression of interest is required as the letter of intent to the Helmsley Foundation is due July 20th.
A telco with the Joslin and the selected organisation will be arranged ASAP.
If your organisation is interested in being involved in this project, please complete the attached expression of interest form by close of business Friday 3rd July 2015.
Please note: All applications must be on typed and emailed using the attached EOI. No handwritten applications will be accepted.
